Running to get it done

Often speed comes with overwhelm.

You’ll meet people doing an excellent job. You’ll see them being very professional in handling the individual tasks of their job. You won’t have anything to complain about.

And yet, you’ll be noticing how they running all day from one task to the other. Time will be well filled, to a point that you’ll find them always a bit late because they had to finish the last meeting.

You’ll also notice that they have a lot of good reasons to stay as they are. They explain their exhausting rhythm with the amount of work to be handled.

They are caught up in a shortcut. They run to make everything happen. They don’t find the time to get an overview of their work. They struggle to switch priorities from a deadline mode to any other view on priorities. Overview is replaced with running.
